Are you communicating effectively?  People must be able to count on you to be there for them, to show appreciation for them and what they do, whether or not they are in the next room or the next state.  There are many types of communication, but not all of them are effective.

You need to talk to your customers while you’re working, not at them.  You must listen to their needs, not just try to make another sale.  Do you let them know how important they are to you with a hand-written note, or do you run out of time?  You may be losing business because you aren’t in regular touch with your customers or clients.  But--

--there is an easier way.

Do you communicate with distant family members during the year, or do you wait until the holidays?  When you’re on the phone with them, if you multi-task while trying to listen to the latest family news, you’re probably not doing any of it well.  There might be times when you mean to send a note to your favorite relative, but you just don’t get around to it.  The result is that you may be disappointing people who are important to you.  But--

--there is an easier, more effective way.
