A true leader is one who not only has the ability to speak so that others listen, but is one who listens to those around her or him. A leader may have a lot of knowledge, but can always learn from another, no matter who that person may be. A leader of a home-based business must be able to work with and encourage those who join the team for the entire team to be successful and earn income to their potential. Leaders must be able to communicate effectively. An effective communicator has many tools at his or her disposal—words, the art of listening, and the mighty pen—or the mighty computer.
Even in its simplicity, the thoughtfully written word can be the strongest form of communication available to business owners, and my purpose is to give you tools to become a more effective leader while being your own boss, and making the money you desire.

When I read this quote by Colin Powell, it made me stop and think about what makes a true leader. Is it someone whom others respect? Yes. Is it someone who has great knowledge? Maybe. Is it someone who talks a lot, in order to educate those he is leading? No.
Effective written communication often includes many forms, from great books to a simple thank you card, sent to someone who has made a favorable impression.
